## Daily Overview

Hi folks,

Today we determined how to find the trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine, and tangent) of any angle using a point on the terminal arm. Remember:

Today we determined how to find the trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine, and tangent) of any angle using a point on the terminal arm. Remember:

- r^2 = x^2 + y^2
- sin(theta) = y/r
- cos(theta) = x/r
- tan(theta) = y/x

**This is based off of part of section 2.2 of your text book.**## GeoGebra Applet

Today we used a web applet to explore trig ratios. Just click on the button below to start it in your browser.

For the technologically curious, I created the applet using GeoGebra - an opensource/free piece of software for doing geometry. See http://www.geogebra.org. For the programmers among us, open source means that the code used to create the program can be viewed and modified by users. In fact the whole GeoGebra project is largely driven by volunteer programmers!

## Homework

Do the following problems from Section 2.2 of your text, pages 96 - 98

#1 - 6, 16, 18, 22

#1 - 6, 16, 18, 22

**Remember to check your solutions & make corrections. You can always ask for help if you get stuck!**## Quiz Soon

There will be a short quiz tomorrow relating to lessons 1-3. Problems selected will be very much like those on your homework.

**Again, if you need help just ask for it**.
